The Solids Challenge

I've really been enjoying the Temecula Valley Modern Quilt Guild.  Even with all my travels, I haven't missed a meeting.  I blogged about the October meeting here.

I didn't mention that when I raised my hand to be part of the Nominating Committee for next years' officers, I was told to put my hand down!  I'm bossy, but I'm not official leader material.  I'll have to wait to report what's going on.

I also issued a challenge to all the members.  Our group is less than a year old, and the majority of our members are not comfortable with "modern".  We welcome everyone, new or experienced quilters, traditional or modern quilters; everyone.  My challenge is for everyone to make a lap-size or larger quilt using only solids.  No prints.  The first question I got was, "Can I use a pattern?".  Of course.  Just only use solid fabrics.

I think this will be very interesting.
May your bobbins always be full,
