Charity Sewing

I live in an active 55+ community.  That pretty much means we're all seniors.  I've lived here for 18 years and really enjoy it.  There's a Quilting group that meets every Tuesday, I haven't joined them because I really don't mind sewing alone and the thought to toting my machine and all my supplies for a project makes me tired.  Also, Tuesday is one of the days that I teach my Tai Chi class.

The Quilting group does have a Charity Sew-In Day, that takes place in the months that have a 5th Tuesday, like last month.  I signed up and had a great time sewing with the group; there were 12 of us.  We made a total of 34 walker-caddies.  The caddies will be donated to the VA hospital.

The next Sew-In is in November, and we'll be making adult bibs for the local hospice.  They asked for donations of Christmas fabric for this project.  The fabric needs to be at least one yard.  I found an online fabric store that had Christmas fabric for less than $5.00 a yard!  I bought some as a donation.

I wonder how many bibs we'll make in November!

May your bobbins always be full,
