Simply Random Quilt.

Above is the photo that was the inspiration for this quilt.  I signed on for the Dead Simple QAL, my first QAL, and I'm a failure.  I took the Dead Simple idea, and made it my own.  Instead of having large areas of color.  I mixed it up, a bit.

I randomly made 4 patches, no fussy planning.  The I took several 4 patches and created Disappearing 4 patches.  Again I this was totally random, I just took the 4 patches from the top of the pile and stared cutting them up.

After truing-up all the 4 patches, I randomly laid them out.  First layout stayed, and I love it.  I kept the pieced back very simple too.  Once quilted this quilt should be 68" x 54".

Thanks for stopping by, today.  Are you a follower, yet?
May your bobbins always be full,

  1. G'day. I think it looks great. I love the colors. Well done.Good on you for having a go. Take care. Liz...

  2. I don't know what I like better: the colors of the quilt, or the fact that you used a softball back stop to display it!! Nice work on both accounts!

  3. The grapes offer such a pretty color palette, Jan. I enjoyed the process you shared on putting it together, I've never considered mixing the colors in my d. 4 patch! I'm still remembering you 2 in prayer, I hope Bob is feeling less pain ~

  4. I think I'm loving this one! And love the clothes pins on the fencing! Nice! Can't wait to see who it is going to be quilted.

Hope you and your traveling buddy are doing better.

  5. I love what you've done with your DSQ. I'm doing mine after Christmas. Hopefully...
