I'm feeling pretty clever

If you look back at all the quilts I've completed, you can tell that I love Zig Zag quilts.  I've completed 4 Zig Zag Quilts out of 36.  It's my most repeated motif.  I have another at the long arm quilter, and one awaiting binding.  I've made 6 Zig Zag quilts and I'm gonna make at least one more.

When I saw this great quilt, and the first thing I thought was, "I can do this!"

I bought this stack of 24 Bonnie Blues by Paula Barnes, probably over a year and a half ago, and it's just been sitting around waiting to be part of a quilt; I also have two yards of this Rich Red Kona cotton, and I think these will work for this quilt.  It looks as if 2 small zig zags equal one large one; and the strip of background fabric between the rows is the same depth as the " vertical drop" of background fabric in the small zig zag.  That's my premise and I'm running with it to make this new quilt.

Keep tuned to see how clever I really am!

Speaking of clever, have you noticed my new blog design.  I have 5 blogs and my lovely creative daughter Carrie, volunteered to update them all.  I'd been thinking this needed to be done, but she's really busy with her design business, Sweet Faerie Designs, so I hesitated asking.  It turned out that she needed guinea pig for  some new things she wanted to try, and I was it.  She did a great job.  If you're thinking of an update for your blog, or just tweaking it, give Carrie a shout.

  2. G'day. Love those blue fabrics. Your zig zag quilt is great. I had a pattern for one some time ago, but gave it away without making it. Take care. Liz...

  3. I like zig-zags too but have never tried one yet. I think it's the thought of all those triangles.
